Join us for the 4th Annual Celebration of McKenna’s Life Memorial Game on August 15, 2026 at Tampa Bay Skating Academy in Oldsmar, FL. This special event honors McKenna Brown’s legacy through hockey, community, kindness, and mental health awareness while supporting The McKenna Way’s mission to stand against cyberbullying and spread kindness to youth and young adults.

Our Why

Join our mission to protect children from cyberbullying. No child should ever have to suffer the anguish, anxiety, embarrassment, and humiliation brought on by cyberbullying that our beautiful 16-year old daughter, McKenna Elizabeth Brown, so tragically faced.

Out of our profound grief, we are finding strength and determination to create meaning and make a positive impact. We want to help spare families the heartbreak and senseless loss that ours continues to endure.

By sharing McKenna’s story our hope is to raise awareness, honor her legacy and ensure that no one has to confront life’s difficulties alone. Together, we will work tirelessly to create a world where kindness truly does matter.

McKenna’s Annual Memorial Hockey Game

Remembering McKenna Elizabeth Brown 2023…family, friends and community supporters gather annually to celebrate her life and legacy. McKenna loved being on the ice and competing. Proceeds from this fundraiser for The McKenna Way go toward suicide prevention awareness initiatives and establishing an annual girl’s hockey scholarship at the University of South Florida where McKenna aspired to play.

McKenna’s radiant presence lit up every room she entered. With her compassionate heart, loving nature, brilliant mind, athletic prowess, and infectious humor, she left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Selflessly putting others before herself, McKenna deeply cared for those around her – a quality that defined her very essence.

For over a decade, McKenna was a fixture on hockey rinks across Florida and the United States, her larger-than-life spirit inspiring teammates and friends alike. Her unwavering dedication and camaraderie made her a beloved member of every team.

McKenna’s life, though tragically cut short, touched countless souls with her warmth and kindness. She will be forever remembered and cherished by the many lives she enriched through her remarkable spirit and generous love.
